to make a bit more clear what an Ayahuasca-Channel is about, who humbly offers his body as a Channel for the World-Spirit Gaia, to heal and work through him/her, world spirit presents you the following explanation...
for the official version being taught to children
refer to QSR
we decided to use below the humble example of the Dreamer and Channel Edgar Cayce.
followed by excerpts of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time and the explanation how great (screen)writers work with self induced Trance states, to Channel higher information unto the paper.
Channeling is a sophisticated Process, and varies from individual to individual.
There are a lot of skilled shamans in the world, channeling ancestors, guiding spirits (totems), or one's own higher self.

the movie about Cayce is called
"Edgar Cayce the Beautiful Dreamer"
“It is the best film ever made on my father”
-Edgar Evans Cayce, Edgar Cayce's son
Edgar Cayce (1877 - 1945), a simple Christian family man, was the most phenomenal psychic of the 20th century.
Cayce was dubbed “the Sleeping prophet” and “the Father of Holistic medicine” because he was able to bring forth incredible information from a deep, self-induced trance
Surprisingly, this knowledge was far greater than the simple 8th grade education Cayce had received as a child from a one-room school house in Kentucky. Even stranger, unless someone wrote what he said in trance, he had no memory of having said it. However, his trances provided information and treatment that led to the individual healing and cure of over 9000 documented cases. Many of those cured had diseases that are still deemed incurable and terminal today.
His extraordinary trances also gave in-depth information and guidance on man's relationship to God, reincarnation, karma, the previous existence of Atlantis, history, and psychic predictions that are just now starting to prove as true.
“A sincere, intelligent, passionate documentary”

Osho on Edgar Cayce
the Sleeping Prophet
Osho - I will tell you about another event in connection with the vermillion mark, so that you will be able to understand its relationship to the third eye. Edgar Cayce died in 1945. Forty years before that, in 1905, he fell sick, became unconscious and remained in a coma for three days. The doctors had lost all hope and said that they could not find any way to bring him back to consciousness.
They thought that his unconsciousness was so deep that perhaps he would never come out of it. All medicines were tried, but there were no signs of his regaining consciousness. On the evening of the third day, the doctors said that they could not do anything more and that
within four to six hours he would die, or if he lived, he would be mad – which would be worse than death – because as time passed the delicate veins and cells of his brain were disintegrating. But Cayce suddenly started speaking even though he was in a coma.
The doctors couldn't believe it: Cayce’s body was unconscious, but he was speaking. He said that he had fallen from a tree, that his backbone was injured, and that was why he was unconscious. He also said that if he was not treated within six hours, his brain would be affected and he would die. He suggested some herbal medicine which he should be given to drink and said that he then should recover within twelve hours.
The names of the herbs which he requested were not likely to have been known to Edgar Cayce, and at first the doctors thought what he was saying was just part of his madness because the substances he had suggested were not known to cure a condition such as his. but because Cayce had specifically mentioned them they thought they should try them.
Those substances were searched for, and given to Cayce: he fully recovered within twelve hours. After he became conscious and when the incident was related to him, Cayce could not remember suggesting any such medicine; he neither knew the names of the medicines nor recognized them. But this event in Edgar Cayce’s life was the beginning of a rare happening.
Edgar Cayce became an expert in suggesting medicines for incurable diseases; he cured about thirty thousand people during his life. Whatever prescription he gave was always right; without exception, every patient who tried his medicine was cured. But Cayce himself was not able to explain it. He could only say that whenever he closed his eyes to look for some treatment, both his eyes turned upwards as if pulled towards the middle of his two eyebrows.
His eyes became fixed there and he forgot everything; he only remembered that after a certain point he forgot everything about this life, and until that point, the treatment would not come to him. He suggested some wonderful remedies, two of which are worth understanding. The Rothschilds were a very rich family in America. A woman from that family had been sick for
a long time and no treatment had helped.
Then she was brought to Edgar Cayce, and in his unconscious state he suggested a medicine. We have to call his state unconscious, but those who know about this mysterious happening would say he was fully conscious at that time. In fact, unconsciousness continues until our knowledge reaches the third eye. Rothschild was a millionaire, so he could afford to search the whole of America for that medicine, but he couldn’t find it.
No one could even say whether such a medicine existed. Advertisements were placed in international newspapers requesting information about the medicine. After almost three weeks a man from Sweden wrote, saying that there was no medicine of that name in existence, although twenty years earlier his father had patented a medicine of that name but never had it
manufactured. He wrote that his father had died but he could send the formula.
The medicine was then made up and given to the woman, who then recovered. How could Cayce have known of a drug that had not even been available on the market? In another incident, he again suggested a particular medicine to someone; a search was made for it but it could not be found. A year later an advertisement appeared in a newspaper announcing the
availability of that medicine. For that previous year it had been being tested in the laboratories; it had not even been given a name but Cayce knew of it.
The medicine was given to the patient who soon recovered. Cayce had suggested medicines which could not be found, and so the patients died. When he was told about this, he said that he was helpless, there was nothing he could do. He said, ”I do not know who is seeing the patient and is speaking when I am unconscious – I have no relationship with that person.”
But one thing was certain, whenever he was speaking in that state his eyes were drawn
upwards. When we are in deep sleep, then our eyes are drawn upwards in proportion to the depth of sleep. Now, psychologists are doing much experimentation on sleep. The deeper you are in sleep, the higher are your eyes; the lower the eyes, the greater is their movement. If your eyes are moving very rapidly under their eyelids you are having a very eventful dream.
Now this has been scientifically proved by thorough experiments – that ”rapid eye movement, REM,” indicates a fast-moving dream. The lower the eyes, the greater the REM; as the eyes go higher, the REM is reduced. When the REM is zero, sleep is at its deepest. Then the eyes remain steady between the two eyebrows. Yoga says that in deep sleep we reach the same state that we reach in samadhi. The place where the eyes become fixed is the same in deep sleep and in samadhi.
I have told you about these two historical events only to indicate that between your two eyebrows there is a point where this worldly life ceases, and the life of the other world begins. That point is a door. On this side of the door this world flourishes, and inside it there is an unknown world, supernatural.
The tilak – the vermillion mark – was first devised as an indication and symbol of that unknown world. It cannot be applied just anywhere, and only a person who can place his hand on the forehead and find the spot can tell you where to apply the tilak. There is no use in putting the tilak just anywhere, because the spot is not in exactly the same place on everyone. The third eye is not found in the same place on everyone; it is somewhere above the middle of the two eyebrows on most people.
If someone has meditated for a long time in his past lives and has had a small experience of samadhi, his third eye will be lower down. If no meditation has been done that place is higher up on the forehead. From the position of that spot, it can be determined what the state of your meditation was in your past life; it will indicate whether any state of samadhi happened to you in your past life.
If it happened often, the spot would have come down lower; it would be at the same level as your eyes – it can’t go lower than that. If that spot has come in line with your eyes, then with just a small push one can enter samadhi. In fact the push can be irrelevant; so, many times when someone goes into samadhi without any apparent cause we are surprised.

Charles Dickens
Charles Dickens was able to go into Trance and access the slipstream,
one if his later creations was
and he could not finish his work, because he "died",
so he used the body of James Joyce as a Channel to complete his work from the other world...
the book of Edwin Drood, was finished by James,
he was a poor mechanic, but he had abilities to channel, so he agreed to channel the rest of the book.
...
experts analyzed the book, and they agreed on the conclusion that it was simply perfect, because it started off at the same point where Dickens stopped, and the analysis of the ongoing work showed that the whole structure coincided and aligned with the original...

this is another wonderful novel and movie about life after death;

[Edgar Cayce and Charles Dickens or their higher Selves found a way to Channel information from the Spirit World into our World to help the people. But as said before, there are endless of variations of Channeling, conscious and unconscious, and Receiving Information through Lucid Dreams is even a gentler Method for the body. As every individual varies, everyone has own methods to induce Trance. Some methods which might be deadly for some, are again healthier for others. Some apply Yoga, Meditation, various Breathing Techniques, others (especially Writers) combine many methods, and use smoking pipes with Meditation, Breathing in combination with creative writing which especially over extended periods of Time induces the so called writing Flow opening up Channels for new Information to enter, and again others may find out, that by not sleeping for 3 or 9 days or switching to Breatharianism is the best method which works out well for them.
So nobody really knows, how psychic abilities work for every individual. they find their one way.
Below we want to quote from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time, which described very well the more subtle aspects of Channeling.
Although it is a Fiction Fantasy Series, C.i.Air was surprised, how valid this so called "Science Fiction" is for our daily lives. It has to be said that if one is able to look deeper and read between the lines, that the great works of History and even the modern movies Matrix, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc. convey nothing else but the true and immanent energies revolving in our own daily lives.
Before we begin to quote Robert Jordan, we want to express our gratitude for his great Creation.
C.i.Air investigates Channeling and Trance States, and found out, that especially for the male among us channeling is a difficult process and can exhaust the body to the utmost extremes.
Channeling and Quantum SPeed Reading, is basically the same, because during Quantum Speed Reading one "channels" or reads the information from the Book on Quantum Levels. Quantum Speed Reading is a more modern definition.
we were shocked which Information was radiating by means of QSR around the Wheel of Time Books!
...and how much healing those books contained! who could have imagined!
enjoy, the following excerpts!
intro:
“The One Power comes from the True Source, the driving force of creation, the force the Creator made to turn the Wheel of Time. Saidin [Yang], the male half of the True Source, and saidar [Yin], the female half, work against each other, and at the same time together to provide that force. Saidin is fouled by the touch of Darkness, like water with a thin slick of rancid oil floating on top. That was the sacrifice of the male half, the deeper we descended into 3D Consciousness. The water is still pure, but it cannot be touched without touching the foulness. Only saidar [Yin] is still safe to be used...
The True Source cannot be used up, any more than the river can be used up by the wheel of the mill. The Source is the river; the Aes Sedai [wielder of the one power], the waterwheel.”
In the Old Tongue, Aes Sedai means "servants of all", and the Aes Sedai of the Age of Legends lived up to this definition. They aided mankind as scientists, healers and philosophers. Women used Yin and men Yang, although it is believed that channelers in the Age of Legends [Lemuria, Atlantis] were much stronger, or at least more knowledgeable in the Power than their modern equivalents[Pyramids]; it is believed that they could fly, and things that would seem miraculous today were supposedly commonplace to them. Some of their lost Talents, such as Traveling and Dreaming, have only just been rediscovered. One thing is clear, however; the greatest works were wrought by male and female channelers working together.
“An Aes Sedai never lies, but the truth she speaks, may not be the truth you think you hear.”
The following precious text deals about the one power emanating from the true one source, the black sun, the center of the galaxy, our origin…
It was written down by Robert Jordan, who could not even finish the 13th book before his death.
...
The One Power emanates from the True Source, which is made up of two complementary parts: the male half, and the female half. People who can wield it are called channelers.
It can be seen as a source, quite literally, of energy, capable of manipulating the universe, which prolongs the lives of its users by a factor of ten or even more, depending on individual strength. It is never used up by someone channeling it, only woven into a purpose temporarily. Each half of the One Power can be used only by people of the associated sex.
The two halves are direct opposites, yet both complement each other, by turning the Wheel of Time through both cooperation and opposition. The essential differences in the nature of the two halves of the Power mean that a woman cannot teach a man to channel, and vice versa.
Channelers:
Not everyone has the ability to "channel", or access, the One Power. Most have none at all, and some only have the ability to be taught, to one degree or another. But a few channelers are born with "the spark" -- an innate inclination that will lead them to touch the Source, whether they wish to or not. These wilders often die without ever gaining control over their innate ability; some research indicates the mortality rate for untrained channelers is 75% or more. Often, this survival comes with a price; they may not even know they are using the One Power to do things, they just know that sometimes, "things happen" when they want them badly enough. Wielders are also frequently saddled with a block -- an instinctive self-preservation instinct that causes them trouble when they do try to channel purposefully. This can take the form of only being able to channel while angry, or never with one's eyes open. Those who do not have the spark can go their entire lives without touching the Power or even realizing they can. The first time someone channels without training, they will suffer side effects, of which there are many: fever and chills, taking uncharacteristic risks, etc. These side effects will come closer and closer to the incident of touching the Power until they coincide. At this moment, without the proper training, the channeler will most likely soon die "as though an invisible clock had begun ticking."
Channelers must always be careful, as the One Power is dangerous. Besides providing an addictive stimulating quality, channelers who draw too much of the Power into themselves can kill themselves or render themselves brain-dead. If they are lucky--relatively speaking--they will only burn the ability out of themselves, leaving themselves unable to channel ever again. Channelers can also be permanently denied the Source by another party.
In the modern order of the Wielders of the One Power (also reffered to as "Servant to ALL") this is called "stilling" when done to women, "gentling" when done to men, but archaically it was called "severing" for either gender.
Regardless of the circumstances, those who lose the ability permanently also tend to lose the will to live. Very recently, a few ex-wielders have independently discovered how to heal severing, but the process is flawed and still in development. It has been implied that only women can heal men to full strength, while only men can heal women to full strength.
All men and women with the spark come to a point of crisis in which they are in severe danger of dying without training, as the OnePower is dangerous to the untrained. Many women who die of mysterious circumstances in their late teenage years are actually wilders who have failed to cope with their abilities. The women who survive invariably develop mental blocks that prevent channeling in the absence of certain conditions; two known blocks required severe anger or thoughts about men before their sufferers could allow themselves to channel. Another is the ability to channel only with one's eyes shut, which can be inconvenient, because a chaneller must be able to see flows in order to weave them. Serious and sometimes drastic counseling is often required to overcome blocking.
Male and female differences
When using the One Power one weaves flows of different elements: Earth, Spirit, Water, Air, and Fire, also known as the Five Powers.{auch: fusion of the five elements mantak chia, die taoisten etc...} Men are generally stronger with Fire and Earth, while women are generally stronger with Air and Water; significant strength in Spirit is distributed equally, and relatively rare in either. Great strength in all Five Powers has been unknown since the Age of Legends. Even then it was extremely rare.
Male channelers as a whole are much stronger than individual female channelers in much the same way men are generally stronger than women, but men cannot link to form a "circle" of multiple channelers working together without a woman's aid. Similarly, women are more dexterous and talented in the actual weaving of the flows, and have the advantage of linking, but cannot increase a circle beyond thirteen without the inclusion of men.
FEMALE YIN
Female channelers can tell when other women are touching the Source - a white glowing aura appears around their body, only visible to those trained to touch Yin, the female Part. The ability can also be sensed in any woman capable of channeling. In the testing to see if one can channel, a woman channels a simple weave and waits. Within five minutes if a woman has the spark, the woman tries to channel the flow, and the test is confirmed. It takes longer for those who only can learn. However, a woman who has the spark can be detected by another female channeler without being tested.
A man who can channel Yan, the male Part, can detect the nearby channeling of female Yin as it raises goosebumps on his flesh.
Female Yin is described as gentle, but infinitely powerful; a force which will do what you wish it to, but requires patience and submission to guide its power. Surrender is necessary to gain it, and women universally speak of it as 'embracing' the ONE Power.
MALE YANG
A man can sense when another man is holding male Yang, though not in the way women do: a man would describe it as a feeling of awe and menace -- with nothing truly visible -- and not easily pinpointed to a particular location or person. The farther the channeling, the fainter the feel. While a female channeler can sense any woman channeling, sensing for men depends largely on the amount of male Yang used in the weave.
There is almost no way for a woman to tell when a man is channeling, though the residues of his channeling can be detected using an appropriate weave. Recently an active method was discovered to discern whether or not a man was channeling or holding Yang, but this is not widely known.
No man can tell at sight if another man can channel, unless the other man has seized male Yang. Testing for men involves channeling a simple flow until a "resonance" is felt from the one being tested. This may often take as long as fifteen to twenty minutes for those with the spark, and much longer for those who can only learn.
Male Yang is described as a rough torrent requiring strict control, something you have to seize to gain, and fight to weave.
The taint [or: stigmata] on male Yang:
In the current age, the taint (stigma) on male Yang causes male channelers, even those who survive the struggle to learn to channel safely, to inevitably go mad and succumb to a wasting sickness which causes the sufferer to rot alive (these curses may come in either order, or concurrently, at varying speeds for each male channeler).
A significant percentage of modern wielders dedicate their lives to hunting down and gentling male channelers before they can cause trouble. Possibly as a result of this, or some other policy of discouraging marriage and childbearing, fewer and fewer people of either gender are born with the talent.
Cleansing of Male Yang energy:
Regardless, any already induced madness or sickness caused by the stigma would not been healed by this cleansing, but merely prevented from worsening.
At least a few Ones have come to believe, through united powers and linkek male-female circles, that Yang is going to be truly clean, although it is still utterly alien to them due to the extreme difference in way they channel.
Five Powers
"There are threads to the One Power, and each person who can channel the One Power can usually grasp some threads better than others. These threads are named according to the sort of things that can be done using them - Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit - and are called the Five Powers....While Spirit was found equally in men and in women, great ability with Earth and/or Fire was found much more often among men, with Water and/or Air among women."
"To the channeler, the flows seem to originate in his or her very immediate vicinity, not to emanate from themselves, although to another channeler, those flows do seem to be emanating from the channeler. The latter is the actual case, as the One Power is passing through the channeler, one of the reasons for individual limits on how much of the Power a particular person can handle. (And you have seen characters react as if to a blow from having a flow snapped or cut.)
A channeler sees the flows as colored very faintly, according to which of the Five Powers is involved (red = Fire, Blue = Water, green = Earth, yellow = Air, white = Spirit), although the "feel" of the flows are also different to a channeler, so that a channeler can tell onefrom another without actually seeing them. (That is how someone can tell that somebody else has channeled, say, Fire and Earth, in their vicinity without seeing the flows.) It isn't a physical feel; you might almost as well say that they have different flavors. They appear to be smooth and nearly transparent, tinged with color
Robert Jordan : Robert Jordan was born in 1948 in Charleston, South Carolina. He taught himself to read when he was four with the incidental aid of a twelve-years-older brother, and was tackling Mark Twain and Jules Verne by five. He is a graduate of The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, with a degree in physics. He served two tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Army; among his decorations are the Distinguished Flying Cross with bronze oak leaf cluster, the Bronze Star with "V" and bronze oak leaf cluster, and two Vietnamese Gallantry Crosses with palm. A history buff, he has also written dance and theater criticism and enjoyed the outdoor sports of hunting, fishing, and sailing, and the indoor sports of poker, chess, pool, and pipe collecting.
Robert Jordan began writing in 1977 and went on to write The Wheel of Time, one of the most important and best selling series in the history of fantasy publishing with over 14 million copies sold in North America, and countless more sold abroad.
Robert Jordan died on September 16, 2007, after a courageous battle with the rare blood disease amyloidosis.
I began reading the series in 1990 when I found Eye of the World in a bookshop now long closed. I was attracted by the cover and have been a fan ever since. The back cover always had a comment from the author promising that he would write till they nailed him in his coffin, boy did he keep his word. One of the few authors in the last twenty years compared to Tolkien who actually produced work that dragged a reader in.
I am looking forward to the final book In Memory of Light.
